Project Description
FLAP Canada – Working To Safeguard Migratory Birds In The Urban Environment
Resonator was approached by Fatal Light Awareness Program (FLAP) to create an immersive public installation to raise awareness of the dangers migratory birds face – particularly during the nighttime in our large cities.
The display depicts an illuminated cityscape with plexiglass window boxes – each housing a taxidermied migratory bird. The installation can be arranged in numerous configurations making it adaptable to a variety of settings, locations and audiences.
The FLAP Canada installation made its debut at the Royal Ontario Museum in April of 2017 and will continue making appearances at events throughout the province raising awareness of the dangers bright lights left on overnight in urban areas pose to migratory birds.
